The Pressure of Posting Often
Ah, social media algorithms — the bane of my existence.
People have said this before, since it’s so common, but social media algorithms tend to favor accounts that post often and consistently. Creators are expected to churn out content like factory-line workers nowadays. However, people don’t normally function that way. (If posting every day is your default, then you scare me).
You might be thinking that I’d be more relaxed with Bearblog considering there’s a lack of an algorithm save for the Trending and Latest posts pages.
Well… Unfortunately, that’s not the case.
I still feel a bit of pressure because I feel obligated to keep this account alive— Partly because of Bearblog’s policy that free accounts that are inactive for a long time are subject to removal, and partly because whoever happens to be following this blog might want to get an update (Which would be a miracle. I mean, people caring about what I write? Wow).
Anyways, I don’t really have much of a point to make here other than to get my current thoughts out. (Which is the reason why I made this blog to begin with, really. Stream of consciousness writing quiets the mind).
To the people who feel the same way as I do, I’m shaking your hand in solidarity. May the algorithm overlords stop tormenting us.
